Washington Green Lee Foley (1780 - 1874) was a Lavaca County, Texas settler who played a significant role in the establishment of the county. Foley founded the first principle settlement in the county, was one of the largest plantation owners in the State of Texas and, in his time, was the richest man in the county. His offspring ran the gamete from good, bad, unfortunate, lawless and brutal. Eventually, his family tree just withered and died.
