Lavaca Goal is a narrative, most fictional, of a game-minded Scot by the name of Thomas T. Waddell (1889 - 1982) who served as a State Game Warden. He headquartered in Eagle Lake, Texas from the date of his original appointment in 1925 until his retirement in 1957. Waddell's colorful career with the Texas Game, Fish & Oyster Commission included preaching wildlife conservation in his public education programs and enforcing game laws.
