"We Are Gathered Here" is an index of all the marriage licenses issued in the Lavaca County courthouse from 1846 - 1869. This index contains over 1,850 licenses filed in the Lavaca County Marriage Record Books and previously unindexed early marriages filed in the Lavaca County Deed Books. The easy to use format gives the surnames of the bride and groom, a reference to the location of the document in the courthouse records, the date of the ceremony and who performed the rites. Freed persons of color are noted with a (F), a notation not found in previously published indexes. This book is the ultimate source for locating marriages in Lavaca County during this time period.
