The Final Muster is an index to over 250 Civil War veterans, living in Lavaca County, who filed for a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. This index provides the user with the name of the veteran, his state and company of service, death and burial information if given and a pension file number or numbers. The pension files number can be used to order copies of the entire pension file from the Texas State Library. This publication is an invaluable source of information on Civil War veterans.
